Home Groups are at the centre of St Mary's church life, offering friendship, bible study, hospitality and support to new and mature Christians of all ages. Groups of between 6 and 12 meet weekly or fortnightly in homes around the village on every day of the week except Saturday, during the day and in the evening.
The aim is to provide an informal home setting in which members are helped to develop and apply their Christian faith in the real world and in practical and whole-life ways. To this end a wide range of methods are used including group discussions, DVD, CD, written material or just an informal chat around an issue raised by a group member.
Home Groups become a small group of real friends, where life's problems can be shared and joys celebrated together. Groups arrange social events and also come together to provide support for other activities in the village.
As groups grow they are encouraged to multiply and new groups are formed: at first this can be a difficult time but it ensures groups remain fresh and that members have an expanding circle of friends.
